Ediofe Girls Shine as District Net Ball Games Champions

St. Mary’s Ediofe Girls Secondary School delivered an outstanding performance to emerge netball champions at the Arua District Post-Primary Ball Games, highlighting their dominance in school sports.

The tournament also saw strong performances in other categories, with Nile High Secondary School finishing as first runners-up, while Excel International School, Rhino Camp, took third place.

Outstanding players from both boys’ and girls’ categories was chosen to represent Arua District at the regional games scheduled to take place in Yumbe District.

The Arua District Education Officer, Marino Acia, emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent through sports, urging schools to invest more in co-curricular activities to support holistic education.

Presiding over the finals, the Resident District Commissioner, Nahori Oya Awa, commended the teams for their discipline and sportsmanship, noting the positive role of sports in shaping responsible youth.

Meanwhile, Rashid Anguzu, expressed confidence in his team’s preparation, which contributed to their strong showing in the boys’ competitions.
